This is a video showing the prototype of a VR game I created as a senior project in the GIMM program. I created everything used in this game including textures and the hexagon material. I don't claim to be an artist by any means but I do what I can to get a project done. Programing this game was definitly a UX challenge as it was my initial attempt at a VR game. Not using standard menu UI was a fun challege to figure out how to get information to the player. This is a project I am still working on and will be posting updates once it is finished.
This video showcases my senior capstone group project, Weight of War. This was a client project, meaning we as a group worked with an assigned client to make their ideas and visions a reality. My main role for this project was the sound design and level design. This project turned out amazing and gave me valuable experience in working with a client and having project deadlines. I was in charge of all aspects of the audio from creating the soundtrack and recording voice lines to doing the audio implementation into the unity project. In addition to my audio work, I also helped to design many of the scenarios the player sees throughout the experience. All in all, I am very proud of the work my tam and I did on this project and look forward to having more client based projects in the future.
This project and my VR project are some of my more recent projects and below you will find some of my older projects.
This first playlist is a series of string quartets I wrote as a soundtrack to a 2D platformer game I started working on. While the game is very far from being complete I found string quartets were a fabulous structure to write for. These are not fully mixed down tracks but are a good representation of my compositional style.
Below are some chip tunes I wrote in the style of the original poke'mon gameboy games soundtrack. I wrote these in collaboration with my brother as a part of a small sounds studio we have called SineGitch Studio. Some of these tracks are revoicings of some above string quartet tracks but using synths to give a low bit feel.
Labyrhythm is a maze style rhythm game where you hit notes in time with the music to help the character get through a labyrinth. This game was created as a group project to create a multiplayer game that can be played with someone over any network. I created the state machine that controlls the character moving through the labyrinth. The character starts out in a confused state where it simply pics a random spot in the maze to travel too. then as your multiplyer increases their light grows brighter and they become more accurate with their destinations and at max brightness it starts moving towards the goal. You need to keep up your multiplyer streak though or it will change states back to being confused and you will have to work back to the most accurate state. I also assisted in making the maze spawn over the network and helping with the code for the rhythm game portion.
In addition to making the state machine I created the sound effects and composed all of the music as well as implementing all of the audio.
Fish Out Of Water is a flash game I worked on as part of a group my first year in college. Working in a group was a great way to divide work to get things accomplished in a short amount of time since we had just over a month to create this. This game was a fun experience to create a custom soundtrack along with the game assets. This game was my first attempts at using a state machine as well as my first attempt at sound implementation using flash. My contributions to this project were the music all game assets except backgrounds as well as the stunned and speed up states. Asside from what I did indipendantly, as with any group project, I also assisted in almost every aspect of the project.
I made this song to be the background music for a group game created for a class. The insperation for this song was obviously Toxic by Britney Spears where I took midi of the song and replaced all of the audio with modified and unmodified clock sounds. The game was Tron like where you played as a clock sliding across a livingroom colecting wind up keys and shooting out gears to damage opponents while leaving a trail of gears. While this game only made it to proof of concept the song was an instant hit and is one of my favorites to this day.
